  • Thu Aug 30 2007 After only one day, here it is: Fama 0.0.3. It sports number of bugfixes, and improved log command. To see changes in detail, visit news entry. As usual, download from SF. This release has no known bugs, but if you happen to find any please report them. You are also more then welcome to contribute.
  • Wed Aug 29 2007 Fama 0.0.2 is out, fresh from the oven for your pleasure. More about changes can be seen at SF site. Download it from here.
  • Sat Jul 07 2007 We are glad to announce our first release, Fama IM 0.0.1. Please note it is very early in development, so it does have some bugs. Play with it, report bugs and provide patches. We appreciate it. It can be download from here.

ABOUT

Fama IM is a project to build an easy to use, powerful, open source instant messaging software built on the Flexible Communications Framework, Telepathy. The Fama IM interface is text-based and built upon the NCurses library, hence you run it in your favorite terminal emulator or directly in the console.

Our goal is to provide users with a complete and highly intuitive instant messaging application that would fit anyones needs.

GET STARTED

The project is still in the early stages of development but we encourage you to try it out and get back to us with your comments. Your help and contribution is needed to make this software even better!

INSTALLATION

You can quickly check-out the latest version using: 

svn co http://svn.fama-im.org/trunk fama-im

Please note that Fama IM is not yet fully functional and there may be bugs and annoyances.

If you need help to install Fama IM you can read the installation guide. To get started with Fama you might also want to read the manual.

MSN (Butterfly) - In testing (.devel branches work)

IRC (Idle) - Not functional at the moment

AOL/ICQ (Wilde) - Not tested, not maintained

SIP (SofiaSIP) - Not tested

XMMP Local-link (Salut) - In testing

Purple - multiple protocols (Haze) - Works as advertised, IRC not functional at the moment
